Can you create an economy without the compulsion to grow by having everyone earn the same, but work more or fewer hours per week depending on the hourly wage? For example: One person might work 8 hours and the other only 2 hours per week (the one who earns more per hour works less). That was just an example.
Also: If, for example, no more doctors are needed, those who want to work as a doctor will face too much competition and will look for something else.
It is a kind of socialism, but it could work.
However, I think it would have to be done globally and with a slow transition, so that companies don’t relocate or other things happen.
