The Role of Lifespan Care Values in a Wellbeing Economy

Values underpin every economy, and care values are integral to all economies because we value what we care about and we care about what we value. I am a retired lecturer in Applied Ethics of Care and my research uncovered a stark contrast between the 2 dominant models of care values in Western Societies that underpin our current economies. Those 2 models are Incidental Care, which supports the colonialist value system, and Lifespan Care that supports human and environmental well-being. My point is that the struggle to establish a well-being economy is made difficult because we lack public understanding and adoption of lifespan care values.

I have created a YouTube channel (Lifespan Care as an Economic Force) with my interview video and the video of my public presentation The Reemergence of Lifespan Care Values. You can find my channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0B-Sw6NBT51c4c1-7nh7WA

The presentation is Canada-focused as I am Canadian and have worked at all levels of government in Canada. However, It is very relatable to many of you.

This is a legacy project for me. I hope you will benefit from my insights. Kerry.
