I write optimistic future fiction. I’ve published a few short stories and am working on my first novel. My fiction is born out of a love of complex social systems, cities, technology, and science fiction. I work in two worlds. The stories set in 2050 explore how things might change in the next thirty years. In 2500, the tech is cooler and the social engineering is more extreme.
I am retired from long careers in information technology and academic research, most recently on the governance of smart cities at the United Nations University. I lived most of my life in South Africa but now I write from Porto while contemplating the waters of the Douro.
