Business & Wellbeing Economics - redesigning ownership & governance to unlock action

There seems to be a flurry of innovation in the deep design of businesses - such as steward ownership, platform coops, social enterprise structures, putting nature on boards, a diverse range of employee ownership models and more…

I’m particularly interested in how these models can unlock ambitious action in pursuit of social and ecological goals for the business. For instance, distributive models of renewable energy production (e.g. Selco India), investment into climate and social justice together (e.g. Vancity), sharing platforms focused on communities (e.g. Library of Things) and long-term commitment to communities and workers (e.g. Scott Bader). We’ve captured 14 such case studies below, but would love to hear from others on more examples that are focused on ways to design ownership and governance as a way to unlock ambitious strategies and actions by businesses.
