*NEW* resource - Communicating about Dollar Dominance: A Messaging Guide for Global North NGOs

Positive Money & Future Narratives Lab have jointly produced this new messaging guide :
Communicating about Dollar Dominance :dollar_banknote:

We hope people will find this a useful resource to inform internal comms strategy, press interviews, public-facing copy & social media output, and much more; to draw attention to the related issues of the international monetary and financial system and the dominance of the US dollar, with topics including inequality, debt, trade, development, climate finance and green colonialism, food and energy prices and the cost of living crisis.

It builds upon our report Beyond Dollar Dominance from 2024, and a workshop from January this year, which brought 18 attendees from a cohort of 14 UK NGOs together, to develop ideas and strategy for building power around this issue, to contribute to the support and amplification of Global South-led efforts. You can read more about the workshop here.

This guide is intended for

âž” Spokespeople preparing for media appearances where they might be asked to talk about issues related to US economic dependency, the dollar, sanctions and tariffs, or international currency arrangements.

âž” Global North NGOs such as think tanks, charities, campaign groups, trade unions, and other organisations, who work on topics and issues shaped by the current international monetary and financial system and the dominance of the US dollar. These include inequality, debt, trade, development, financial reform, climate finance and green colonialism, food and energy prices, and the cost of living.

Please let me know if you have any questions or thoughts, or if you might be interested in any future use of this guide or other collaboration on this work down the line please email me at campaigns@positivemoney.org.uk :slightly_smiling_face:
