Policy course module 9.9 Which of the five perspectives are systematically considered - or not - when assessing the impact of policy initiatives?

This discussion space is part of the Wellbeing Economy Policy Design course, Module 9.9.

Module 9 introduced five perspectives for policy impact analysis: impacts on 1) root causes, 2) current wellbeing, 3) wellbeing inequalities, 4) future wellbeing, and 5) wellbeing elsewhere.

Thinking about policy impact assessments in your department:

  • Which of these five perspectives are systematically considered when assessing the impact of policy initiatives?
  • Which of these five perspectives are NOT systematically considered when assessing the impact of policy initiatives?
  • Which of the case study examples in Module 9 has inspired you to strengthen policy impact assessments in your organisation or department?
