WEAll Scotland is proud to share our major new research that reveals something powerful: people across Scotland are ready for a more equal tax system.
Our new report, Sharing Our Wealth, shows overwhelming public concern about wealth inequality, and strong support for asking those with the greatest wealth to contribute more to support public services and build a fairer society.
Some of the key findings include:
• 83% say the wealth gap is too large
• 90% believe wealth inequality is more harmful than good for Scottish society
• 85% of people support increasing taxes on the wealthy over reducing them
• Two-thirds would prefer higher taxes over cuts to public services
This research sends a clear message: the public is ready for change.
For too long, wealth inequality has been treated as inevitable. But this research shows that people across Scotland believe a fairer system is possible, and that taxation reform is essential to funding the services and communities we all rely on.
You can help make sure this message is heard. Sharing this research helps build momentum for a fairer economy, and shows decision-makers that people across Scotland support action.
