Let me cordially invite you to a seminar, in person, at the Sorbonne University, in Paris, on the 11th of October, 2024, between 9:30 and 11am. I would be extremely happy to see you there. Please find the talk abstract, below.
Abstract:
Originally, economic systems have been aiming to determine our human needs, and coordinating our human actions, in order to improve society’s utility (a measure of happiness, or, in general, wellbeing). This was working well for a while, however, currently, we are in the middle of a socio-ecological crisis, and some research fields, like Ecological Economics, propose that our economic systems should look, simultaneously, not just for our actual human wellbeing, but also for the ecological wellbeing (c.f. planetary health).
A previous webinar gave insights on how The Wellbeing Driven Economy could provide for our actual human wellbeing:
The Wellbeing Driven Economy -A new economic system (paradigm), based on technology
(Just look for “The Wellbeing Driven Economy” in your favorite browser, and you will find the mentioned webinar)
It is not compulsory, but highly recommended, to watch the mentioned webinar in advance.
Now, during this seminar, I will present, among others, how The Wellbeing Driven Economy could nicely suggest the coordination of our human actions, in order to provide not just for our actual human wellbeing, but also for the ecological wellbeing! Insights and exemplary illustrations will be given.
In particular, Wellbeing Economies aim to address the human, and the ecological, wellbeing, simultaneously, and institutions like the Wellbeing Economy Alliance - WEAll have been promoting Wellbeing Economies, since a long time ago. The Wellbeing Driven Economy is a proposal for “How to implement a Wellbeing Economy?”.
Summarizing it, The Wellbeing Driven Economy is a novel multidisciplinary ground-breaking approach on how to best coordinate society: 1) without using a GDP based economy, 2) providing for the actual (material, and non-material) human wellbeing, 3) for the ecological wellbeing, and 4) suggesting how to improve the ecological crisis, we are currently in.
Many thanks, and hope to see you, in person, at the seminar!
