My name is Vítor. I hold a BA in Social Sciences from CPDOC/Fundação Getúlio Vargas and a Master’s in Public Administration from EBAPE/FGV. I am an MIT Alumni, with an MBA in Impact Finance from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Argentina, and an Alumni of the PDC at Fundação Dom Cabral and in ESG at Saint Paul.
Today, I am the Principal of the Instituto GUETTO, an organization I founded in 2019, and I also established the Escola da Ponte para Pretxs, an initiative that aims to empower Black, Brown, and Indigenous people for the job market, thereby promoting social mobility. I attended public schools for both primary and secondary education, and since 2019, my mission has been to overcome structural and institutional racism by empowering Black and Brown individuals for the workforce and generating evidence for decision-makers in public education towards anti-racist education in Brazilian public schools. I achieve this through the Mapa Preto da Educação, a program that extracts, processes, and analyzes public education data with a focus on race. This data gives rise to the report Dados Pretos em Branco: Inequity in Education with a Focus on Race and the Quilombo Educacional, a community of practice with Black public school managers and later, non-Black managers who are anti-racist.
Currently, I also serve as a Visiting Professor at Fundação Dom Cabral and sit on the boards of several social organizations and companies. My commitment to equality and inclusion is a fundamental part of my journey.
My interests are all connected to overcoming racism and its consequences.
I fight to be happy by all means possible!
