Here are some of the updates we shared with you all in our most recent members calls:
Global week of mobilization in September is being called “Draw the Line” with a unifying story across many issues such as transition away from fossil fuels, sustainable food systems, taxing the rich, debt cancellation and climate finance, regulating political capture by big corporations. We want to stop further harm being done while pointing to the need for transformative economic systems shifts to achieve the wellbeing of people and the planet. With everything that is happening in the world, there is a calling for a unifying moment of different movements.
COP30 (Nov 10-21) in Belém, Pará is a key fixture in the 2025 external calendar. Hosted by Brazil, in the Amazon, this is a symbolic opportunity to advocate for economic alternatives to address the climate and environmental crisis and hear from those most directly impacted by it. WEAll has been working toward COP30 as a key moment and an opportunity to support the coming together of different movements around a unifying social and environmental agenda and a future of wellbeing. A parallel People’s COP will be held in Belém and WEAll’s Amp Team will be there between 7th and 17th of November. The Øutra Economia hub in Brazil has been developing a series of dialogues with periphery communities which will be showcased as an art exhibit at the People’s COP. Together with our members and allies who will be in Belém we hope to host a wellbeing economy gathering.
