Oh yes, I"m sure you can! WOuld you be open to a Zoom chat sometime soon? We’re at an inflection point after a great start, and it would be great to have someone who has done this already to chat with. I’d love to invite you to one of our core group meetings too!

Hello lovely peeps! It was great to see a lot of you today in the monthly members’ call. I’m a biodiversity and climate scientist and dabble (urgently!) in filmmaking, policy and civilization shift. I run a global medium-term convening process called the Global Restoration Collaborative (website moving soon to the EcoRestoration Alliance) which brings together people and projects in ecosystem and climate restoration, biodiversity conservation and rewilding, social repair and reconnection - through youth and women leaders, Indigenous cultural bridges, greybeard technocrats (okay, small joke), resource users and inner-development facilitators. WEAll has been a fabulous organizational partner of the GRC, https://www.ecorestorationalliance.org/grc, and my earlier global initiative, the Stable Planet Alliance, https://www.stableplanetalliance.org. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hi Kate, we are just 2 hours away from you in Guelph, Ontario! My biz partner, Dr. Gillian Maurice, and I form Second Wind Liberation (If liberation practice were an organization structure, what would that look like?), and are working with Naryan Wong out of the Toronto, and the David Suzuki Foundation to “entitize” WeAll Canada. We also have the beginnings of a Guelph project that went through a couple of phases of development with a steering group, that we are hoping to breathe some life into now that our Transition movement petered out.

I would love to chat about the Ontario “scene” of economic transition!

Welcome, so excited to have you here

Hi, my name is Michael. I’m from the Greater Boston / New Hampshire part of the US. Interested in participating in a WeAll Hub in this area, but it seems like one doesn’t exist yet. Hope to find out if there are other people in this area that are organizing to discuss opportunities to promote the idea in our local communities. Nice to meet you all!

Hi All, I’m Isabella from the suburbs of West London, and had set up ‘All Bright Club’ as a channel to inspire all (with Internet access) in creative activities that involve up-cycling useful resources. It is not the one based in central London, which has now re-branded after I registered the name at Companies House. In addition, physical resources are provided to charities and others in my local community. Often being the recipient of donations, like out of date fabric sample books, it is important to keep them moving into my local community for little or large hands to craft.

All of this (turning ‘colourful circles’) began in a personal quest for well-being, as well as advocating creativity in the community and my background includes both, i.e. seller and maker of holistic gifts, plus several community mural projects between 1986 and 2012.

Often collecting flower petals, falling or fallen from the stem, to make organic solutions. With these solutions lengths of string are tinted and passed on to our local SEND charity for creativity days.

I do hope that I can be of useful service here. :rainbow:
Here’s a link to the hosting site, for All Bright Club Ltd. (which is planned as to become a CIC when the opportunity arises):

p.s. So sorry that I missed the WEAll England online meeting, but have just caught up via the link that Ana kindly sent.

Hello all! I am glad to have joined this community. My name is Serban and I am the founder and director of the Interdisciplinary Climate Economics for Nature and Society - ICENS lab, a newly established social enterprise focused on education, local community projects, research and consultancy in the field of economics for sustainability. ICENS lab fosters diversity in economic thinking by embracing a wide range of schools of economic thought, all having a say in understanding and shaping a wellbeing economy. It also fosters dialogue and collaboration between economists and artists. If anyone is interested in one of these two avenues of collaboration, I would be happy to hear from you.

@Serban I’m also new here, but welcome! Fantastic bio and organization, looking forward to exploring your site. Shame you’re not based in the US as I’d offer to volunteer but very interested in the intersection of art / culture and economics. I haven’t found a thread in this forum on the subject, but would like to start one or join if one exists.

@MichaelB Thanks much for your words. We could think about ways to cooperate even though you are based in the US. A couple of the ICENS lab team members are actually also based in the US, such Michael Goodwin who has authored a great comic strips book on economics (entitled “Economix”). II also haven’t found a thread in this forum on the topic of connecting economics with the arts and humanities. Let’s set one up then!

@Serban I’d be glad to discuss what that cooperation looks like. I’ll shoot you a message about my background and what I might be able to contribute. And thanks for sharing Economix - it looks great and I will search for it at my local library. As for the arts thread - let’s do it. I’m particularly interested in how people are influenced by their local culture and hope to capture that spirit in some fresh conversation about promoting WE within the arts and humanities.

Hi @Serban, I wanted to thank you for the recommendation of Michael Goodwin’s Economix, which I just finished and was fantastic. I also enjoyed some of the new work that he’s been doing on his website. You mentioned a few ICENS team members are in the US - what other work is ICENS pursuing at the moment? Perhaps we could continue this conversation on LinkedIn. I’d love to get more involved.
