Looking for a research topic

Hello everybody!

my name is Francesca Dal Ben and I am a master’s student in Sustainable Territorial Development at the University of Padua (Italy) and the Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo (Burkina Faso).

I am currently defining (let’s say struggling to find …) the topic of my thesis and I am particularly interested in themes related to the social and solidarity economy, social business, and more broadly, alternative economic models. I’m doing my internship in Spain (Madrid) and, for the thesis, I would like to not “move” from this area.

I was wondering whether there are areas, projects, or open questions that you consider interesting or in need of further exploration—even at a preliminary level—and on which a thesis could provide a contribution. Even suggestions of websites I can look for or something.

I know you might need more context and I’m available to give you every detail!

I think an interesting area that is often overlooked, is: What can be done to raise humanity’s consciousness levels from where they are today to where they need to be?

I would be interested in whether there are any locally developed forms of social and solidarity economy in Burkina Faso, given the observations of this paper file:///home/judy/Downloads/kouanda-2021-les-passeurs-de-leconomie-sociale-et-solidaire-au-burkina-faso-acteurs-voies-et-modalites.pdf. Of course it would depend on what is feasible to study.
