My name is Renaud, and I’m based in Brussels, where I teach a course on Economic Facts and Institutions for adult learners. While researching concrete examples of resilient networks for the section of my course dedicated to “New Economies” and collapsology, I discovered WeAll — and I was immediately inspired by your global approach and collaborative vision.
I’m very interested in exploring how concepts of the Wellbeing Economy can be shared, taught, and embodied locally through education and community practice. I would love to learn from your experiences and contribute, perhaps even by initiating something here in Brussels in the future.
I’m looking forward to connecting with you all and exchanging ideas about building more resilient and meaningful economic systems.
Hello everyone,
My name is Richmond Smith, and I am the Project Director at Heritage Charity Foundation (www.hcfghana.org), (https://web.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077575975851 ), a nonprofit organization based in Ghana, West Africa.
We are honored to join this group and to connect with such a distinguished network under the WEAlI. At HCF, our work focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable and rural communities through initiatives in environmental conservation, clean water access (WASH), climate-smart agriculture, and women’s economic empowerment.
In Ghana, one of the most pressing challenges we are addressing is the devastating impact of illegal small-scale mining (“galamsey”), which continues to destroy our forests, pollute vital water bodies, and pose serious health risks to communities. The environmental degradation has far-reaching consequences on livelihoods, food systems, and public health.
We are committed to advancing environmental justice, promoting sustainable alternatives, and strengthening community resilience, and we look forward to learning from and collaborating with members of this global network.
Thank you, and we are excited to be part of this important community.
Warm regards,
Welcome! Wonderful to connect with you, Renaud! You should join as a WEAll Member iif you are interested in being more active- see more here: https://weall.org/members
Ah yes, I see you’re a dancer as well! When you hit that right flow state, I’m convinced there’s some deep energy work being done that goes beyond individual wellbeing.
@thobile Thank you for encouraging a connection to @Anna ! I’m currently planning a structured (qualitative research) US “movement mapping” project to document and publish what’s happening in the US, backbone organizations and others who are building the field and pushing the boundaries, what language and principles these organizations are finding most effective to orient around and why, and any gaps/needs/opportunities in the US movement. @Anna I’d be so grateful for 45 minutes of your time to share perspectives with you on the movement in the US, and—to guide some of my research questions—hear what you think might be most useful / valuable to understand as I embark on this project (or if something like this already exists that I’m not aware of, that I can build from). Also, currently, this is self-funded and 100% independent, so I also welcome ideas on who might be interested in funding (partial or fully) this effort and/or “hosting” me as a contracted researcher. Many thanks!
I’m Judith. A few weeks ago, I attended an informational event hosted by System Delta in Germany, which is how I first learned about WEAll.
I’m now 61 and have been making a living as a freelance enterprise architecture consultant for the past few years.
In my currently, unfortunately, very limited free time, I go for walks with my dog and enjoy reading books on new discoveries in physics, chemistry, and biology (I’m a physicist by training).
Until a few years ago, drawing, painting, and woodworking were also among my hobbies, but unfortunately I hardly have time for them these days.
As for what I can cook that no one else can quite pull off… well, I do love to cook, but the results are (since I can’t seem to stick to any recipe) always rather random—sometimes truly amazingly successful, but other times… well, let’s just say they’re not so great.
I’m very interested in economic issues because I believe that democratic societies are currently being endangered by rampant capitalism. The respective governments and/or political institutions firmly believe in the sacred cow of the “free market economy,” even though it’s being virtually undermined by an increasingly authoritarian form of capitalism controlled by a numerically small group of billionaires.
I Am Jude C. Nwachukwu from Liberia West Africa . It is my pleasure to join all is this forum. First I heard about this institution from Fito Network. Thanks to you all.
It is my pleasure to join you all. I am Jude C. Nwachukwu Coordinator of MCLD Liberia Chapter Inc . It is our desire to collaborate with a like minded network like yours and share knowledge. Thanks to you all.
My name is Robbie Barton (he/his). I am currently based in southeast coastal Virginia in the US on the unceded lands of the Chesapeake and Lumbe native peoples.
I have been organizing for healthy, just, sustainable wellbeing economies and societies in one form or another since learning about it in grad school for sustainability at Arizona State University about a decade ago.
My most recent role was on the Communications team at the Participatory Budgeting Project, a national nonprofit that works with communities to empower and equip them to decide together how to spend public funds through a deeply democratic process.
Excited to build the wellbeing economy movement with you all! Recently, I have been exploring bioregionalism and solidarity economies guided by questions about how we can show up for/as nature and one another in loving ways in these times.
For fun, I like to go running and cheer on @ajanoo’s inspiring campaign for governor of Vermont from here in Virginia. And I suppose I can cook a mean chocolate chip cookie.
Oh, here’s my LinkedIn for anyone who want to get connected on there. Cheers!
I’m Jen Horn, a facilitator, researcher and interdisciplinary creative from Manila, Philippines.
My purpose is to cultivate connection and creativity for and with individuals and organizations towards liberating, just and regenerative futures. I try do this in different ways, working with different sectors, but I’m most enlivened by these personal projects:
Ugnayan Cards (Ugnayan is Tagalog for connection; @ugnayancards) - a companion / facilitation tool / card game for cultivating more meaningful and liberating reflections and conversations that reconnect us with ourselves, each other and the natural world
Hapag Ugnayan (a play on hapag kainan or dining table; @hapagugnayan) - a project that aims to reconnect us with the kitchen, the land, farmers and each other through potlucks of food and creativity
…and it tickles me that one of your icebreaker questions is around food, @AamirahWEAll2, but a difficult question to answer / claim! My “dish” is possibly a no cook one…salad! It sounds boring, but there are limitless possibilities, and you can match it to different cuisines. Some friends have given me the moniker “Salad Slayer”, so I guess I’m pretty good at it. There’s no one salad I’d claim, but you can count on me to bring a bangin’ salad to a potluck!
Nice to meet you here. This group popped up in my LinkedIn feed and it caught my attention. Coincidentally, my mother and I were talking about the effects of capitalism and how its effecting the basics of day to day consumerism i.e buying groceries while strolling through Toronto. But for some reason, everyone is living life like they are in an Enya video. Weird.
Currently, I’m supporting my 60 year old mother transition back to Toronto after living 10 years in small town Wajima, Japan. Unfortunately, we lost our home and close family member during the 2024 Noto Earthquake and it severely effected my family.
When I’m not side questing, I’m co-hosting the INNERWORQ podcast trying to normalize sensitive and relevant topics such as grief, loss, loneliness, etc. Would love to learn and participate in groups such as the wellbeing economy. Thanks for having me!
A really warm welcome to this community, @Kairizzle. Serendipity by the sounds of it! I’m so sorry to hear about the impact that the earthquake has had on your family. It sounds like you’re doing such valuable work on such important topics. Do come and join one of our global or regional members meetings, if you’re keen. By becoming a WEAll member, you will automatically receive invites to these sessions into your inbox. It’s one of the ways in which we aim to facilitate connection between our members.

Yay! So glad you are here Robbie @Margreet I had mentioned the connection with Participatory Budgeting- although Robbie is no longer there I am sure he would have lots of perspectives to share!
