During this time I have been working remotely from Guatemala, and have become really interested in indigenous rights & governance, sustainable tourism development, and evaluating trade-offs in sustainability applications. That’s why I’ve decided to pursure a master’s program in Environment and Resource Management this year, and hope to apply what I learn to the sustainable tourism sector – in particular with indigenous communities here in Guatemala
I feel that the ideas behind ecological economics are quite similar to traditional indigenous worldviews about our relationship with nature and with our communities, at least from what I’ve learned in the Americas. I’d be super interested in exploring that more deeply, in particular, incorporating traditional indigenous knowledge into wellbeing economy frameworks!
Hi, I’m James. I’m a community-led development practitioner for the community and economic development agency of the north of Scotland. Prior to this I spent some time in the third and private sectors. Although I work for an NGO, I subscribe to heterodox economics, including Modern Monetary Theory.
I discovered WEAll last week after hearing Lisa Hough-Stewart at an event and thinking, this really resonates with me.
Outside of work I shoot recurve archery, build and paint miniatures and enjoy tabletop and card games - I’m a massive nerd basically! I also quite like watching ‘boxsets’ with my other half, we recently finished the second series of The Pitt and I think that might be thirty of the best hours of television ever produced.
I’m not much of a cook to be honest, but I can make a mean cheese toasty.

My work has taken me across sustainability, circular economy, and wellbeing, but one thing has remained constant: I’m endlessly curious about human behaviour and the patterns that shape how we think, decide, and interact with the systems around us.
That curiosity is what brought me to WEAll. I care deeply about creating the conditions where both people and the planet can thrive, and I’m currently growing Safe Harbour—a wellbeing initiative exploring burnout prevention, human flourishing, and more sustainable ways of living and working.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me strength training, walking in nature, reading, or writing.
I’m looking forward to learning from you all, exchanging ideas, and contributing wherever I can.

I’m Pins, from sunny Brighton, UK.
Looking forward to participating here, I first heard about WEALL while studying at Schumacher College in 2023. Having decided everything about everything needed to change and it was time to re-educate myself.
For work I’m the Business & Enterprise Lead at Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) or ‘part of that doughnut thing’ as a friend calls it. I’m also chair of a food business membership group called the Food Network for Ethical Trade, and lead Deep Time Walks in community, for students and businesses. I also have my hands happily (mostly) full as a single mum to two young adults and daughter to two 85 year-olds on the care economy side.
Outside of all that, I love cheese and make a mean tiramisu.
